dress up #3

  •  Necklace - Zara - £19.99
  • Bag - Dorothy Perkins - £20
  • Dress - Topshop - £60.00
  • Shoes - MissGuided - £34.99
  • Earrings - Tiffany & co - £385

For dress up #3, I decided to go for a look based around this stunning prom style dress by Jones and Jones.  They have a number of similar styles on the Topshop site, all of which I'm currently coveting.

Another winning accessory from Zara was the next item I discovered - the necklace is elegant yet still a statement piece, and I like that it has mixed metals, as I am usually more of a silver person than gold, so this has the best of both worlds.

Missguided are fast becoming my favourite place for really affordable, fun shoes - they are mostly super high though, so not for the faint hearted! I'd say about 90% of their stock is non leather too, which is perfect for me.

Let me know what you think of the outfit!

dress up #2

Sunday, March 3, 2013
  •  Bag - Zara TRF - £29.99
  • Boots - New Look - £29.99
  • Top - Dorothy Perkins - £45.00 £30.00 (Now on sale!)
  • Jeans - Topshop - £38
  • Watch - Marc Jacobs - £219
For dress up #2, I based the entire outfit on this top from Dorothy Perkins, which caught my eye a month or two ago and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. I am really into creams and neutrals at the moment, and although I am not usually a big fan of gold detailing (I prefer silver), it works well here. The boots from New Look have now shot to the top of my wish list, along with the top; this series really is dangerous for my bank balance!
It's nice to find a bag from Zara which is made from synthetic material. I'd love to buy more of their handbags; I always think they are gorgeous, but sadly a large percentage of them are made from leather, and as a vegetarian I just can't go there. This is a really lovely, structured piece which I think would be great for work. *runs and hides bank card*

Dress up #1

Saturday, February 2, 2013
Who didn't love playing dress up when they were younger? I had a huge box of clothes and shoes in our attic that my friends and I used to raid on many a fun Saturday afternoon. I remember prancing around the house in shoes that were far to big, and dresses that were far too long, swishing my hair and posing like my life depended on it.

I've never lost that love for clothes, and as my husband (and wardrobe bursting at the seams) will testify, I do indulge probably more often than is strictly necessary!

Dress Up will be a new weekly feature on my blog that allows me to cater for my love of shopping without breaking my bank balance. The only slight flaw in my plan is that I now want to buy every single thing I have shown here - especially the stunning Missguided shoes.

Let me know what you think of the outfit, and if you like the idea of this new series!
